This is the way my grandmother made mac n cheese…absolutely wonderful….
1 lb bag of elbow macaroni
6 T butter
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup flour
3 cups milk
1 lb cubed yellow cheddar (Grandma used mild, I use sharp because I’m a rebel)
10 oz swiss cheese, cubed
cube the cheese
put the pasta water on to boil and pour a glass of wine (Grandma left this part out, but I adjusted the recipe for you)
Bake in a 350 degree oven until the Swiss is melted, about 30 or 40 minutes…
Grandma served this with canned corn and big glass of milk…I serve it with a green salad and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc…
not only easy peasy, but cheesy too!
