For the love of all that’s good and holy, it’s over!
My attorney called me a few days ago and said that Dick’s attorney told him he had the release of lien and would file it in a few days. I told him to ask Dick’s attorney to deliver the release to his office and that I would go down and pick it up and take it to the courthouse and file it myself.
About three o’clock I got the call that it was there so I buzzed down there and just barely made it to the courthouse before five o’clock, but it is filed and I have a certified copy to send to the bank so they will release the money for the subs. I drove like a maniac from Salt Lake to the Courthouse because I was sure I wouldn’t get there until 5:05 and I’d have to wait until the next day. I think if I had not gotten to the courthouse on time, I would have sat in the parking lot and cried.
This has been one of the most difficult things I’ve ever endured. Thank you for listening, your comments and support have been amazing and I will never forget it.
I drove back here and opened a bottle of champagne and had a glass for all of you.
I called the subcontractors to tell them I would be sending them checks, before I got all teary eyed from the champagne.
So the lawsuit has ended and it’s time to get on with the business of finishing my house.
Onward and upward!
