I picked this little beauty up on my last trip to Walla Walla. It is intended as a “table wine”, a nice well balanced red that works well with food and it fits perfectly in that category. I bought three bottles and have served all three with various menus with great success. VERY food friendly red!
I have never seen it in my local wine store and it may just be available at the winery, so you should probably just plan a trip there right now to pick up a bottle. http://woodwardcanyonwinery.com/
If you take wine tasting trips and have never tried Walla Walla you are really missing out! Let me know if you go and I’ll give you a list of my favorite wineries. I’ve been there a half a dozen times now. It’s a laid back, sweet little town with great restaurants and wineries. There is a nice golf course that sits right outside of town on the edge of an area known as the “wine ghetto”. When I stop there for a few days, I play golf in the morning and taste wine in the afternoon and then take a nap before setting out for dinner with more wine! It’s the perfect getaway…
