My All Time Favorite Ginger Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Crisco (don’t use butter or margarine, Crisco is the way to go, trust me)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 T ginger
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1/2 t salt
  • granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Beat Crisco, egg, sugar and molasses until creamy
  2. Sift together flour, ginger, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a separate bowl
  3. Add flour mixture slowly to Crisco mixture, beating after each addition
  4. Roll teaspoon size balls of the dough in sugar and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes
