FOURTH OF JULY IN THE HIGH COUNTRY

I spent last weekend at my friend’s cabin in the high Uinta mountains.

It would appear that these mountains haven’t got the word that summer has arrived!

This has been an amazing year for snow, but quite frankly I was shocked at how much is still up there. These pictures were taken July 4 in Utah’s Uinta Mountains at between 9 and 10 thousand feet elevation…

Provo falls pretending to be Niagra Falls!

The snowpack is still up there in our mountains – so odd! There was skiing advertised on Mt Washington, further up the Island, on the July 1st holiday.

Saw pictures on the news of people skiing in shorts and tank tops. But hopefully this snow will keep the water tables high. Send some our way, we are still in a drought.

Amazing – have heard about the record snowfalls & people still skiing.
    Don’t get snow – I mean sunburned!

What refreshing pictures after spending the 4th of July in Phoenix. The day we arrived it was 115 degrees! Thanks for the blast of cold!

What snowpack still remains in the high mountains! I don’t think we’ll be hiking up high here in CO for weeks – if ever! Refreshing though, isn’t it?

Wow, those are amazing photos! Even though it’s suppose to be summer, I welcome the sight of snow because it’s much better than having to suffer in the heat and humidity!

I’m amazed there’s still that much snow left. What a crazy year we’ve had. Gorgeous pictures.
