Hood River

I always stop in Hood River when I’m on my way to the coast because there are some amazing wineries here.

One of my favorites is Marchesi.

This place is simply amazing. Their wines are typical Italian wines with an Oregon twist. The Sangiovese is my favorite…it’s fruit forward and smooth. They also make a rich, earthy Barbera with cherry undertones that is wonderful with ragu and pasta.

The people who work here are so pleasant and helpful. It seems as though every time I am there (which is basically every time I go to the coast), the owner is there and he loves to sit and eat and talk wine. Since I also love to eat and drink wine and then talk about it for hours, we always have a nice time. I’ve never left there hungry or unbuzzed… Typically, I try and make this place my last stop of the day, so I can just check in to a hotel and go to sleep when I leave….

Some vines…

If you are ever in this neck of the woods, I highly recommend that you stop and eat and drink and talk.  Here’s the link Marchesi Vineyards

Those OR skies look suspiciously cloudy! We stopped and drove around a bit in Hood River to see the wineries, too. However, raining hard when we were there. Safe Trip!

So pretty. I love visiting places like this and trying the local wines 🙂

Oh yes please! And I love the sound of flying over to you to watch a Twin Peaks marathon. I would so be there in a jiffy if I could! 😀
