I stopped at Korbel Winery on my way to the coast.
Sigh…it’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it and it might as well be me. This place would be worth visiting even if you couldn’t get champagne here. I really expected to see Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr sitting on the patio having lunch! It’s kind of touristy, but in a good way. I ended up buying a six pack of champagne (who knew there was such a thing!). It’ll be great fun to surprise my guests with this summer instead of the sangria they’ll be expecting!
I got a kick out of this sign. This place is 6500 feet lower than where I live! I loved all the oxygen!! and bubbles!!!
If you are ever in the neighborhood, stop here and have lunch with Cary and Deborah…
and if nothing else, go check out their website, I love the bubbles..so cool! Korbel Champagne

Congratulations on being the first “K” post on Jenny’s link! My husband would probably enjoy the oxygen level there – he nearly passed out when we visited Pike’s Peak!

Hmmm. Do champagne grapes grow better a near sea level? I know very little about growing wine grapes or making wine. 🙂

I’m not big on the taste of champagne but the thought of having a “six-pack” of champagne sounds too funny 🙂 You definitely seem to be having a great time on this road trip!

did they have tasting stations? That is a low coastline – and I thought the plains states were low. Enjoy your travels! {:-D
