Red Wine

The Jack

So, it’s Twin Peaks night again in my neighborhood and I’ve been given the task of choosing a wine for the night’s festivities.

While walking through the wine store, I saw this!

In the television show, there is a place called “One Eyed Jack’s” It’s kind of unsavory and run by some evil people, and a main part of the story line, so I just couldn’t resist buying a wine with a One Eyed Jack on it. I amaze myself sometimes. Sigh…

I decided that I should taste it because my friends count on me to bring good wine and I don’t want to palm off something not quite up to par (at least that’s what I told them when they noticed one of the bottles was opened)

See the flannel shirt on the chair? Yep, that’s what I’m wearing (I’m such a fashionista!) We all wear flannel shirts because that’s what they wear on the television show..I know, I know, we really are pathetic.

Anyway, the wine was really quite nice, so I did a little research and found out that it is made from the culling of the barrels of this particular winery’s flagship wine Une Vallee (which I’ve had in Walla Walla and it was excellent!)

This wasn’t expensive (under $20) and was a real hit at the party!

Last year at our Great Conversations Book Club we read short stories under the title “The Seven Deadly Sins”, so of course I brought Seven Deadly Zins. Isn’t it fun sometime to find a good wine that goes with the theme of the evening.?

Haha yay for Twin peaks night RMW! And yes I thought of One Eyed Jacks straight away too! What an odd little place that was! 😛

Gosh, is that still being shown or is it a new series?
Clever of you to say you were just testing the wine for your guests. How thoughtful.

      Patti,

It was a series that was on a long long time ago, but we’re pretty desperate here in the wilderness for entertainment, so we get together and watch it on cd…

      sad, but true…
