Red Wine

BRUNO’S BLEND

So…..it’s starting to get cooler up here and I decided to start a little project..finding some nice reds for you to drink this winter! I’ve literally tried dozens of different wines and culled it down to a few favorites for your drinking enjoyment, (burp!)

Here’s one:

I first tasted this when I went to Walla Walla earlier this year on a wine trip. I wasn’t sure about it, so I had to try it several times to be positive that it belonged in your cellar – the things I do for you guys…

There’s a great story behind this wine. The winery owner wanted to create a wine that would show the artwork of one of his friends, Father Bruno Segatta. Each vintage of the wine has one of his paintings on the label. Part of the proceeds goes to a charity chosen by Father Bruno. So, not only do you get a good wine, you are doing good by buying it! That’s a win win for me.

Anyway, if you like Cabs, then you will probably like this also. It’s a full bodied red with a lot of intense fruit flavor…blackberry. It’s the kind of wine that can benefit from sitting for a while, but I’m not really good at waiting.

Anyway, here’s the link to the vineyard in case you happen to be in Walla Walla and want to go visit. The winery is gorgeous, you’ll think you are in Tuscany… http://vapianovineyards.com/

You are too, too good to us! The research you put into this post is above and beyond the call of friendship – the only appropriately adequate response would be immediate purchase of a case of Bruno’s Blend……when I’m next in WA!

I was just writing a post about needing comfort food and a pasta dish. I should have made your instead…though mine was good too. Will post it later. I had not canned artichokes or white wine though. I do have marinated artichokes….as in the big jar from Costco….yum!
So, you are a wine lover. I would be too but it doesn’t agree with me at all. I would love to sit and sample several varieties etc….but, the headache and heart palpitaions and the evening o’ fun, keep me from indulging. I love that the wine maker puts his artwork on all the bottles. Might have to buy some just for that reason and display them.
