HEADING TO THE COAST

So after a few days of….hmmm….golf, yeah that’s it! After a few days of golf

I think it’s time to head to the coast. I need to feel the sand between my toes and hear the ocean outside my window….sigh..

So, I point my truck’s nose toward the west and off I go

Washington is soooo beautiful, but I love Oregon even more. I grew up in Pennsylvania and sometimes I just need to have trees around me for a little while. Utah has trees, don’t get me wrong, but Oregon has TREES, the kind of trees I remember growing up

After several hours of driving, I make it to Astoria which is a cute little town pretty much at the top of Oregon. I love it here…

There is a view area in town where you can go and see the mighty Columbia in all her glory. Maybe that’s the other reason that I love it here, the river. This is a river like the ones I remember as a girl back east.

I love it here!

I love Astoria! The view of the bridge is one I know well. Are you going to drive up to Long Beach WA? There’s a cute little town called Illwaco, not far at all from Astoria. It sounds like you’re having a wonderful trip!

The Columbia is a fine river, but you haven’t seen anything til you’ve seen the Umpqua River in Douglas County Oregon. It is way beyond gorgeous, and just about out my backdoor.
Beautiful photos. I love Astoria too, though i haven’t been there for quite a while.

Oregon has always reminded me of Ohio and Pennsylvania, too! I love the grand old trees and the sweet farmhouses tucked away around every turn.

Thanks for the happy memories this week!

I loved visiting you this week.

    A+
