Oregon!

I spent the first week of July in a rented beach house in Rockaway Beach, OR with my family.

I watched a weiner dog race

DSC_0121 click here to watch

This cute little guy tumbled for us while we were waiting for the dogs to get their running shorts on, he was really good!

I watched amazing fireworks from the balcony of the beach house, with a glass of lovely OR wine!

Hiked down to a pretty little beach

and stopped and looked at the mighty Columbia on my way home

I caught clams, crabs and rockfish and ate all three, as well as bringing some home. I drank A LOT of Oregon wine as well as bringing some home.

I am so in love with Oregon…

The trip looks amazing. That coast is so different from mine. I do remember the blogs about the wine, and the cover on the cookbook looks enought to eat.

Great article and wonderful photos. Visiting Oregon is on my wish list, mostly to see Portland, but I may have to add this area into my plans.

I visited Oregon for the first time a couple of years ago and was amazed at how green it was, but that’s coming from a girl raised in Utah! We went to Crater Lake (so beautiful!), then made our way down to the Redwoods. It was a fun trip.

Looks like a nice little break from the heat and smoke of Utah. Our clear clear blue skies and puffy white clouds have finally returned. Yay! and welcome home!

I love Oregon too. I have been there but it was a long time ago. When my father was 18 he won a scholarship to go to school in the US for a year. He went to Portland, Oregon and stayed with the most wonderful and generous people who he stayed in contact with for the rest of their lives. He went to the school where they filmed Mr Holland’s Opus – Grant High. When I was 16 he took me to Portland to meet them. I’ve never forgotten it. It was my very first time in the US and I loved it. Had the best holiday. I’m glad you had a good time too. Love the images. The cookbook sounds amazing xx

Your photos of Oregon are really lovely. The ocean, even on a cloudy day, is so thought-provoking, don’t you think?? I love the photos of our family and the rock outcroppings as well.

We are planning a trip to Oregon right now for Mid October.

I really want to move there. I need cooler temps and green to refresh my soul!

I’m sorry I missed your giveaway but I have a box of Oregon cookbooks already for trips there! Some people buy knick knacks when they visit…I buy cookbooks…and find the local markets!

Thanks for an outstanding link for the letter “O”.
