Tequila Cocktail

Tequila and I have had a long and difficult relationship. We met when I was in my twenties and for a while we were BFFs. I was living in South Florida at the time, and I didn’t really like beer back then which was what everyone else drank, so tequila with lime became my go to drink. Then one night (it was a wedding anniversary if I recall right) I had a little itsy bitsy too much and it was really a bad scene. Bad enough that I didn’t drink tequila for a couple of DECADES.

Now that I’ve grown up a bit, ahem, we are friends again, so I have been experimenting. This version is especially tasty:

Take about a 1/4 cup of tequila

and about 1/8 cup of agave syrup (more or less depending on how sweet you want it)

then take a lovely refreshing lime, slice in half and squeeze the juice into a cocktail shaker with the tequila and agave syrup and add a few drops of lime juice from a little plastic lime (for some reason this is really important, I tried it without and it just wasn’t as good).

live action!

shake it up in a cocktail mixer with ice

rub a lime around the top of a glass then dip it in kosher salt

fill the glass with ice and then pour the cocktail on top, garnish with a little lime if you want to be all fancy schmanzy….

this will get your motor running!

ha ha ha !! We all know an alcohol with which we were BFF until THE day …
For me, it was Beer (desperado) not so far ago …
But I like tequila. When we were young and crazy, we used to drink it in tiny glass, we putted hand on the top of the glass, shock it on the table and drink it in a oner. Terrific … 😉
But your drink seem to be very fresh, and here it’s hot again. I would like to taste it.

Lol! Funny, I’ve had a similar relationship with tequila!!! I was never smart enough to avoid it for very long!! This is a great way to enjoy our mutual bff! Great glass too.
