So, it is Twin Peaks night again in my neighborhood and I needed to come up with something to eat from the show. I’m a little short on time today so I decided to make brie sandwiches based on the following quote. Jerry had just gotten back to Twin Peaks from France:
JERRY (CONTINUED)
Brother Ben, this is the best damn sandwich I
ever ate, it’s a baguette, with brie and butter, had
four of these damn things every day I was there.
(he reaches in and finds another one)
Got a couple left – here, try one
I love that show!
Anyhow, here’s how I made them.
Ingredient list
yep, that’s it, Brie, Butter and Baguettes
Start by slicing the baguettes lengthwise
Spread softened butter all over the bread
peel all the rind off the brie (if you stick it in the freezer for 15 minutes, this will be easier)
cut the brie into pieces and spread it on the bread
Close up the sandwich and place it on a baking sheet
bake it in a 350 degree oven until the cheese melts and the bread crisps up (about 10 to 15 minutes)
slice and place in a basket with a tea towel to keep it warm until you can get to your neighbor’s house
or maybe just sit in your truck for a few minutes and eat a piece or two (just to make sure that it tastes ok)

That looks and sounds divine.
….I hate diets….
OMG as soon as I started reading this post I got excited. Not only because I love sandwiches but I also adore Twin Peaks! It was the theme of this year’s birthday! Never mind that most of my friends had never seen it lol. Clearly I should have invited you! 😀
I love brie, I love butter, and I love baguettes! Thanks for the great sandwich idea…..someday when I take a break from Weight Watchers I’ll try it. 🙂
Brie, butter and bread – my favourite sandwhich combo. It’s making me hungry even though i’ve already eaten my dinner!
Oh my! Talk about kicking it up a notch!
Oh wow and I just had decided this afternoon to join Weight Watchers. lol
Well I may have to try these first don’t want to think about them the whole time I am trying to loose.
Was thinking about you wondering if you had been writing and then I come over here and find food.
Now off to your writing section
Love ya
Maggie
You can never go wrong with bread, cheese and butter! That looks good 🙂 Wish I could hang out with you for Twin Peaks night!
Hello, my name is Axelle and I’m french, I live in the south of france, in a town called Toulon, between Nice and Marseille.
Cheese and bread … with a good wine … WHAT ELSE ???? 😉
You’ve got that right. Although I add apple butter and a thin slice of turkey to mine!
I’m with Cookie. When my WW journey is on a break I will be putting Brie on a Bagette.
It just doesn’t get much better than this – unless you’re eating it in France and drinking a glass of red wine.
You….eccentric…..could have fooled me – I thought you were as normal as I am…..then again…..
Baguette, butter and Brie! Oh my.
Some would settle for just the baguette, but where’s the fun in that?
How is it you live THAT far away from me and manage to make me gain weight?
Looks like the best d*&%# sandwich too!

This looks so tasty! I need to try this. You post great stuff always! Thanks! Anne
That looks wonderful and since it is not meat, I’m good to go.
Brie on baguette is a staple when I’m in France. YUM!
That looks soooooo good!
I totally agree. This may be the best sandwich. I love the dents I have. I just struggle ti stay consistent with my reactions to tantrums.
The best sandwich I ever ate also involves brie. A roasted, butterflied chicken breast with slices of brie melted on top. On Tuscany bread. Awesome.
OMG Woman…I just can’t take it…..give me a piece of that NOW!…lol! xo
Thank you! Every time I watch Twin Peaks I always mean to know to make those sandwiches, but get distracted and forget. FINALLY! The Grail Hath Been Found!
