UNUSUALLY BEAUTIFUL SUNSET

I snapped this a few nights ago from my back deck.

I live in the foothills of Utah’s Uinta Mountains, a unique and beautiful place. These mountains are the highest east west running mountains in the United States and harbor some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

The Mirror Lake Highway runs from Kamas, UT to the Wyoming Border. All along it’s length are lovely little lakes and waterfalls. I spent some time up there this Labor Day with my son in a canoe on Lost Lake (don’t you just love that name?). It’s across the highway from Teapot Lake…

Should you ever decide to visit this wonderful place (and I highly recommend that you do someday!), I suggest stopping here to pick up a picnic lunch http://samaksmokehouse.com/

Your cell phone won’t work once you leave Kamas (that’s a plus for me!) and the snow falls here anywhere from October to July. It’s truly God’s country…

xxoo,

RMW

Fabulous sunset! I like the sound of “Lost Lake” – peace and quiet! I think our mts got snow overnight (I’m in the city just now).

Oh so awesome! I would love to hang glide around those sites! (I have never done any hang-gliding before, but these views really beckon to me to try something like that out over them!)

    Blessings & Aloha!

Awww yes, mountains at their finest for sure. My daughter in law’s Uncle has a big ranch in Peoa and I loved visiting there. Sure isn’t the same here in the desert part of UT…I miss the mountains. Thanks for an Ultimately beautiful post:)

Oh this is just breathtaking! You almost had me sold on moving out to Utah just to see this view everyday….at least until you mentioned being unable to use the cell phone 🙂 I’m joint at the hip with mine (unfortunately) and can’t even imagine life without it!

By the way, thanks for the link to Jennie’s blog. It was a good release for me after having so much built up on the inside 🙂 Other than swollen eyes today, I’m feeling pretty good 🙂

Mountain light is simply the most beautiful ever – the air, the reflections off all the surfaces – everything…If I could pick up my house, potting shed and acreage and place it anywhere – it would be in the mountains. You certainly know you live in a magical place.
