Vega Sindoa Viura/Chardonnay – A Possibility for Turkey Day

I have been tirelessly searching for a wine for you to serve with your Thanksgiving Turkey… insert heavy sigh and long suffering look….

I may have found one! At least you should try it (maybe with a turkey sandwich) and see what you think. It’s got notes of lemon and green apple, it’s crisp and unusual. If you try it and like it, let me know because I’m still searching for the perfect turkey wine which is important because if the wine is wonderful, it won’t matter if the turkey is a tad overcooked or the mashed potatoes are a little lumpy.

Cheers!

I am not much of a judge on wines. I like my homemade country wines, and that’s about it. I hope this one works for you.

Why didn’t I think of that??? Lots of wine before dinner and then I don’t have to get all stressed if the meal doesn’t turn out 100% OK. Wine for me and the guests.

      Betty,

It works beautifully! Good appetizers, nice wine and NO ONE cares about anything else…

Since I usually have both of these issues (slightly overcooked turkey and lumpy mashed potatoes), maybe I should start serving wine!

    😉

Thanks for the tip about this wine choice. I am going to pass it on to my son’s sweetheart. She loves to take new wines to her family’s dinners. This one sound lovely!

Back in the day when I did drink wine, a hint of green apple and lemon would have sounded wonderful. But having given up wine and other alcohol many years ago now, I can say that it still sounds delightful, although I won’t be sampling it. 🙂

I love it, R.M. Mrs. Jim might like it. For sure it starts with a letter “V” so it is perfect for today. Some suggest a Spanish cheese to go with it. Try that with appetizers before the Turkey is served.

“Vega Sindoa Viura Chardonnay – This Spanish favorite is full-bodied with crisp acidity like a bright green apple and delicate floral aromas. Pair with — Manchego, a traditional Spanish cheese, is a great partner to this summer white as the sheep’s milk used in the Manchego brings a touch of sweetness for a true Spanish romance …” came out with a Google search and ended with Summer Wine. Another showed the price to be about $10.

I will let you know if we try it. Mrs. Jim is in to Two-buck-Chuck right now.

Thanks for the idea about the cheese!

Tell Mrs. Jim I love two buck chuck! Their Sauvignon Blanc is good also. I always buy a case when I’m on the coast because you can’t get it here in UT…

Wow, that looks great! But we don’t celebrate your Thanksgiving with that much of food, so i am thinking of doing your older omelette post instead. That is much reasonable for us than turkey!

Thank you for stopping by! and for mentioning “Unbroken”…I love reading books written in that time – 1940’s. I haven’t read that one, but will have to keep it in my books to look for. I am off now to catch up a wee bit on some of your past posts…I seem to barely manage posting my once a week posts, but hope to get a little more consistent at blog posting and visiting!
