Shrimp and Grits

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This shrimp and grits will bring a little bit of southern goodness to warm up a crisp fall night night.  When I lived in the south, Shrimp and Grits was one of my favorite things to order at a restaurant.  After I moved here, I had to come up with my own recipe.  The grits had to be creamy, the bacon crisp and the shrimp bright and sweet.  This recipe hits all three points perfectly!  Add a bit of sharp cheddar on top and it all comes together perfectly!

You can use instant grits, but the real thing is so much better.

Buy the best sharp cheddar you can find, it makes a big difference in this recipe!

This is such an iconic Southern dish and I wonder why I never got to try it when I was in the region. Something to add to my list for sure 🙂

It’s such a purely Southern dish. I do miss the food in the South.
