If there is anything better than a whiskey sour at the end (or middle) of a long day, it’s a whiskey sour with some tart blackberry shrub mixed in to liven things up. Cocktail hour is such a sophisticated way to end the day, isn’t it?

A tart, tasty cocktail made with whiskey, lemon juice and blackberry shrub
Ingredients
2 ounces of whiskey
1 ounce of blackberry shrub
1 ounce of lemon juice
1/2 ounce of simple syrup
Basil leaves for a garnish
A dash or two of bitters, if desired
Instructions
Add whiskey, shrub, lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker
Shake vigorously for 10 seconds
Add some ice and shake for another 10 seconds
Strain into a glass filled with ice, add a shake or two of bitters
Garnish with basil
